The Great Economists

With the rapid progression of globalisation and automation, policymakers worldwide face an abundance of economic problems. Are Brexit and Trumpism bad solutions? Why have wages been stagnant? How do we deal with weak growth? These questions, and more importantly the possible answers to them, not only dominate political discourse but also shape our everyday lives as citizens. Economist Linda Yueh appeals to the great economists throughout history to help us. From Ricardo’s take on international trade, to Robinson’s theory of the labour market, Yueh argues that the key ideas in the history of economics still matter today. We’re invited to imagine a conversation with the great economists, all the while reflecting on how to move forward.
